Ben on Tour

Manchester - 2003

Ben van Dijk visited the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester from Februari the 26th till March the 2nd.
 Since two years he is on the staff of the school as bass trombone teacher but he works with all the students from the trombone class.

This visit Ben not only gave classes but also performed a recital.
With a trombone-ensemble of the school he played:
Blue Topaz - Tommy Pederson
Ballad for Mr. Roberts - Ilja Reijngoud
The Chief - John Stevens


John Wilson and Ben van Dijk


With the school's pianist, John Wilson he played:
Adagio - Albinoni
Concerto - Lebedev
Aria from Susanin - Glinka

With synthesizer CD he played:
Canzone - Frescobaldi/Koopman

The recital was organized by Chris Houlding, head of the brass departement of the school and principal trombone of the Opera of Leeds.
It was for Ben a wonderful suprise to meet his friend and former teacher, Roger Bobo who is like Ben on the staff of the College.
Ben's recital was very well received by those who attended the recital.

Ben's next visit to Manchester will be coming May
