Low Brass meets Flamenco

On April 27 we had a very successful concert with our Low Brass section of the Rotterdam Philharmonic.

Alexander Verbeek - trombone/basstrumpet
Pierre Volders - trombone
Remko de Jager - trombone
Ben van Dijk - basstrombone
Hendrik Jan Renes - Tuba

together with:

David Pino (zang)
Irene Alvarez (dans)
Harriette La Kika (dans)
Alexander Gavilan (gitaar)
Ricardo Mendeville (gitaar, Codarts)
Mischa Cok (gitaar, Codarts)
Benjamin Cok (gitaar, Codarts)
Matthew Birsch (gitaar, Codarts)

This combination was a big surprise for everybody. We played apart from each other but also had some very special moments together.
I have been working on the program for several month with the help of composer, Steven Verhelst and was so happy to see it works!
There are plans to redo this concert as soon as possible.
Fire, passion, rhythm, death, happiness and so much more in one concert!

Thanks to Suzanne Algra from the RPhO Classical Lab to make this possible!

There will be a short highlights video online soon!

Too bad the complete concert was not recorded! There absolute amazing moments and the low brass added to Tangos y Alegrias was so nice.

Also the 2 arranged de Falla el Amor Brujo songs worked amazing.

Steven Verhelst did a great job and David Pino sang super. This with the added Palmas y Cajon was so wonderful!

I hope we can do this concert again in the near future!
