I have a customized Elkart 72H for sale.
The original single valve has been replaced with a removable Holton 180 valve section that has a Minick D slide.
The linkage is a custom, autographed Minck thumb/forefinger mini-ball setup.
The original leadpipe has been replaced with a removable Bach 50 pipe.
This horn plays with a great light vintage sound and is surprisingly open, even through both valves, when played with the right mouthpiece.
The slide works well, considering it's age. It has a tiny bit of stocking wear on one stocking which does not appear to affect it. Much of the laquer on the outer slide and valve section is worn. There is also some "funky" hand engraving done on the bell in the silver plating (tiny notes mostly) that is really not very visible other than from very close up. The valves have been professionaly cleaned and compression tested and are in good condition.
I have used this horn in big band, tbone choir, and concert band setting and it's worked great for me.
Comes in an ancient, beat up, but totally servicable Bach hard case if you want it.
Noe reduced to $950 obo. Pics on request.
Also would consider straight up trade for a Conn 88H in playable shape.
