    Etian Rolan (?)

Hi all! I'm starting to think about repertoire to play for my recital next year. He has suggested doing a piece on contra too. He briefly mentioned a piece called 'Etian Rolan' (sorry if the spelling is wrong). I was wondering if any other contra players out there had heard/played the piece and could give me any information on it? Such as composer, publisher any historical details etc. This is open to anyone but especially aimed towards Chris Stern (blast) whom I know is a leader on contra repertoire and my teacher has given me your contact details so would be nice to talk in person about it at your availability?!

Any information from anyone would be much appreciated!

    All the best!

Etienne Rolin is a French composer. I am not sure if he has written anything for contrabass trombone.
John Kenny has written a sonata for contrabass trombone.... a major work that I played a little bit of down at Trinity last year.
Investigate bass trombone and tuba works... lots of things can be made to work.
Ben (this site owner) is sure to have some good ideas.

    Chris Stearn.
