Ahh, alors Scott Robinson est celui qui a remplacé Michael Priddy!

Eh bien moi j'étudies au Conservatoire depuis l'automne avec Patrice Richer, je joue à l'OSJM, l'OSJJ, à l'orchestre et à l'ensemble de cuivres du Con, et à d'autres places, lorsqu'on a besoin d'arracher la peinture (bref de jouer du trombone basse) =P

J'suis pas encore "officiellement" connu, mais j'espère bien l'être!

I've heard him in a Trombone Action concert... Even still he's gettin' old these days, he still packs a solid punch! There is a video of him on Youtube with the Vic Vogel big band playing at the Privave, there's some punchy-crunchy bassbone there (Thanks to his Duo Gravis =P)

Although there are not many "real pros" around here in Montreal, I'd be curious to how many respectable bass trombone player are within' the montreal region (I'm not talking high school students here) UdM? McGill? UQàM? Vanier? St-Laurent?

It would surprise me to have more than 20 names.

Isabelle is right! We only have a couple, but they are great! Trevor Dix, Pierre, Bob, Sylvain Nolet! They are all great and very friendly people!

As far as I know, Bob has all the commercial gigs in town and is really the man for that big huge punchy sound.

You can also see Bob play with Vic Vogel's Big Band, Joe Sullivan's Big Band, and every other big band out there

Maybe I'm the only one in this forum who knows Robert Ellis (call him Bob). He's a quebecer bass trombonist who plays in the famous folkloric band "La Bottine Souriante".

His sound is absolutely incredibly fabulous. I have no word to describe what effect this sound had on me...

I can compare him to our friend Doug Yeo. I never had the occasion to hear Mr. Yeo in concert (only on CDs), but his sound and the Bob's sound seems to be equally beautiful.

Bob's sound is incredibly large, powerful and brassy. Orf... no... I'm not able to make a good description in English, even not in French. You, bassbonists, must absolutely listen to Robert once in your bassbonist life.

To see him on a stage with "La Bottine Souriante" is another great experience (it's a VISUAL and an AUDITIVE experience).
