    Sandblasting

I have a Bach 50B, and the lacquer ain't all that great, especially on the bell. I am considering getting it removed and I know you can buy sandblasted saxes, occasionally sandblasted trumpets, but have never heard of sanblasted bones. So, is there some reason they don't do it? And would it be better to get the lacquer chemically removed? Would it make the bell too thin? Thanks :)
